Dialup requires no additional infrastructure besides the telephone network. As telephone points are available throughout the world, dialup remains useful to travellers. Dialup is usually the only choice available for most rural or remote areas where getting a broadband connection is impossible due to low population and line infrastructures. more

Connect

When you connect to the Internet, you might connect through a regular modem, through a local-area network connection in your office, through a cable modem or through a digital subscriber line (ADSL) connection. ADSL is a high-speed connection that uses the same wires as a regular telephone line. more

Here are some advantages of ADSL:

  • This is a permanent connection to the internet.
  • The same line can still be used for voice calls or faxes.
  • The speed is much faster and the connection much more reliable than a regular dialup modem.
  • An additional line does not have to be installed to use ADSL. The existing line however needs to be upgraded.

ADSL is however still only available in certain areas within 5km a radius from the telephone exchange. Please click here to check whether ADSL is available in your area.

Lando introduces the new Uncapped Solution for all ADSL users. No longer will accounts be limited to the amount of data consumed during the month. Line speed will be the only factor determining the price of uncapped services. more
